The Castenada Family

"There comes a time where, as always in life, the best things that happen to us have to come to an end. Sadly, that time has come for our beautiful princess, Kayla Sophia, for the first time in her life. She will be moving forward to her next stage and the first step on this new path is Kindergarten.

Since she was six months old, she came to be a part of the Wausau Child Care family, as we came to be a part of your institution as well, and there are no words to describe the gratitude, respect, appreciation and thankfulmess our family have for each one of the amazing members of your center, the ones that still remain and the others that have been with us over the past four and a half years.

We strongly believe that many of the amazing skills, humble attitudes and the different innocent ways of driving us crazy as parents (which make us very happy and proud), were obtained through tireless dedication and endless patience, we honestly can say, that it has been a rewarding experience for all of the members of our family, even our loved ones that live thousands of miles away; you wouldn't believe the reach of what you do, or perhaps you do, as an example every time that we shared with grandpa or grandma, or aunty or uncle any of the stories, pieces of homework made through the different special occasions of the year, you made many people happy and proud, in a different language in a different country, for this and so much more, THANK YOU ALL.

As long as we take good care for our children, there always be hope for us, God bless the marvelous human beings who dedicate their lives to preserve, to improve, and to strengthen the sacred bond we have with our sons and daughters, your profession is perhaps one of the most important in our society.

We wish you the best, and as it turns out, our Matthew is going to stay with you for the next few years, so the headaches from our family are not ending really soon...

Thank you very much for all of what you have done for our princess, thank you for your patience and thank you for showing us and teach us so many things over the last few years, please keep the highest pride on what you do, at the end of the day, when I play with my children and I look into their eyes, I can see happiness, hope, dreams, wonder, eagerness for life, and many more things that we inexplicable lose as we grow up, and you are a big reason for all these wonderful great pieces in the life of our little angels."

"Dear Jen,

We've met at a Health Department meeting in the past, but I wanted to send you a note to let you know how great your staff at the Franklin Center are.
My son, Forrest, is in the Honeybee room. A couple weeks back, he got a fever and was crying. I hurried over, and as I arrived, Miss Sue was cuddling him and comforting him. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to know that my son, in any circumstance, will be well cared for.
His teacher, April, is also really engaging. She always takes time to let me know what activities Forrest is doing. Forrest loves her and your other staff, particularly Kelly and Karen, and talks about them at home. On weekend days, he frequently asks if he'll get to see April, Kelly, or Karen. Thank you for providing that peace of mind. It is priceless."

"I spent many hours thinking & worrying about how to choose the right daycare. Since my daughter was only going to be part time, I was looking for a daycare that was going to provide a rich learning environment that would be both fun and educational. I wanted to find a place where she would get the individual attention that I wanted her to have and the interaction with other children that I felt she needs. I am happy to say that Wausau Child Care provides that environment. Although she has interacted with many of the teachers, she spends the most time with Miss Hollie and Miss Stacie. They are very attentative to her little quirks. They are willing to help me "work" on particular things with her (i.e. tummy time). I always feel comfortable expressing my concerns with them. My favorite thing is all of the fun artwork she brings home. I need to get a bin to store it all. I know she is learning things there that she might not learn otherwise or at a different daycare. I know she is in good hands when I leave her there."

"My daughter has been going to Wausau Child Care for one month now and I cannot say enough good things about the program and staff. Ms. Amy, Ms. Sandy, Ms. Karen, Ms. Mai, Ms. Sue and Ms. April are wonderful and very caring. They accepted Lauren into the program and have made her feel comfortable. I love the daily report cards and activity sheets so I can see what she is doing each week. The holiday season was great and Lauren's highlight was Santa. I am so glad we found this place!"

"I remember crying while sitting in my car the first day I dropped my soon-to-be two year old daughter off at WCC. Ms. Sheila was reassuring and Kyra immediately was smiling. However, I was a guilt-ridden mess. As the weeks went by, I felt blessed to have such loving, understanding and patient adults taking care of Kyra. That became more evident than ever when Kyra was in Ms. Stacie's classroom. Kyra starting having some challenging behaviors and, at first, we couldn't figure out what was causing them. My heart was literally breaking every day I was watching my happy little girl struggling to fit in. Ms. Stacie and all of the WCC staff never judged or treated Kyra differently. They were only concerned and wanted to help. Finally, we found out that Kyra had ADHD and needed the doctor's help. The first day in over three months, I walked into the classroom and Kyra was smiling with pride as she had a "good" day. No reports of misbehaving! Instead, she was herself again! Playing with friends, giving her teachers hugs and full of optimism. I cried that day too, but tears of happiness and gratitude for the wonderful people at WCC. Since then, I've trusted them with two more of my children. No other child care center compares!"

"Prior to the birth of our daughter, my husband and I researched and visited several daycare locations. We finally chose Wausau Child Care Center - Cedar Creek due to location, cleanliness, security & safety and incredible flexibility. My husband and I couldn't be happier. WCC - Cedar Creek provides individualized attention with organized activities, smaller class sizes, very flexible hours and consistent, friendly faces. (I don't think anyone ever has a bad day.) Our favorite teachers have been Miss Morgan and Miss Hollie - but, in all honesty, we've spent the most time with them. I feel very comfortable leaving my only daughter in their care knowing they would treat here as their own. As new parents, we look forward to the activities sent home to save for her to look through when she is older. Our favorite was the Christmas ornament. How precious! Another note (yes, one more) - Miss Melissa always greets families and makes sure to smile and wish us a happy day. I will never forget my feeling of terror dropping off Layla on her first day of care. Miss Melissa walked me down, made sure I knew the procedures and, if I had questions, they were answered. It let a load of concern fall off my shoulders. Thank you. It surely isn't easy having others take care of my daughter. We want to be with her every moment to value her precious life and milestones."

"Our son was 6 months old when he started at Wausau Child Care. He had a bit of a hard time adjusting, but the staff in the Moon Room were super patient and flexible so that my son could transition easier. They communicate with us wonderfully and that makes it easier to drop him off. If we can't be with him every day, I can't think of a better place to take him."

"Melissa, please share this with the staff.
Susan and I just want to thank you for all you do and for the incredible and lasting impact you've had on our son's life. The recent events in Connecticut remind us how important teachers are and how they give of themselves continually to teach, train and love our kids. We are especially thankful of how the staff at WCC has gone the extra mile to make our son and all his friends feel safe and at home while they are in your care."
Thanks again!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
